The Prenatal Academy

  • What equipment do I need? Can I do this workout from home, or do I need access to a gym?

The only equipment you need is a set of light-medium weights (i.e. 5-10 pounds) and a yoga mat. The program is designed so you can do it right from home! All recordings are even done in my own very simple home gym.

  • How long are the workouts?

Each workout is 30 minutes long, including a warm up and a short stretch.

  • What format are the workouts in? (i.e. written plan, PDF, video)

The workouts are pre-recorded follow-along style videos. This means I'm right there on the video screen, guiding you through it step by step! You can also join our Weekly Live Zoom sessions to ask questions about the workouts and connect with others doing the program.

  • I'm new to strength training. Can I still join this program?

Yes! The program is designed for all levels. I welcome beginners, as well as experienced athletes. It is so important to start slowly and with the basics, which is what Week 1 is all about. From there, we scale things up and you can take any progressions or regressions according to your abilities and how your body is feeling.

  • I'm 30 weeks pregnant... can I still do this program?

Absolutely. You can start this program whether you are 10 weeks or 30 weeks pregnant. It is designed to support you no matter which trimester of pregnancy you are in, with the appropriate modifications and stretches provided in each workout.

  • Are the workouts diastasis safe?

Yes!! This program is designed to support you in minimizing and/or managing abdominal separation, also known as diastasis recti. Always check with your primary healthcare provider prior to beginning an exercise program.

  • I have health benefits coverage for Occupational Therapy services. Can I submit this program receipt to my insurance?

This program is a personal training service, not an Occupational Therapy (OT) service, so you cannot use any OT benefits for this. If you have a health spending account, you may be able to put this program towards that. Always check with your insurance company.

The Postnatal Academy

A 12-week program to return to exercise safely after baby.

  • How soon after birth can I start The Postnatal Academy?

You can start as soon as you've received your doctor's clearance to return to an exercise program. For most women, this will be as early as 6 weeks postpartum.

  • Are the workouts C-section and diastasis safe?

Yes!! This program is designed to support you in your recovery after both vaginal birth and c-section. You can also do this program if you have abdominal separation (diastesis recti) or a prolapse. Always check with your primary healthcare provider prior to beginning an exercise program.

  • I'm 2 years postnatal... is this program still appropriate for me?

Absolutely. You can start this program whether you are 6-weeks or 6 years postpartum. We start you with the basics and build you up so that by the end of the 12 weeks you're feeling strong and connected to your muscles, no matter where you are along your postpartum journey.

The only equipment you need is a set of light-medium weights (i.e. 5-10 pounds) and a yoga mat. The program is designed so you can do it right from home! This includes pausing and playing the workouts as needed to account for baby interruptions :)

  • How long are the workouts, and what format are the workouts (i.e., written plan, PDF, video)?

Each week you will get 2 different 25-minute workouts. You can choose to do the workouts on the same day or different days, depending on your schedule! You can also choose to do each workout once, twice, or three times each week. The workouts are pre-recorded, follow-along style videos. This means I'm right there on the video screen, guiding you through it step by step! Absolutely! The program is designed so that you have access for the full 12 weeks. However, I know life can get in the way sometimes - so if you plan to enroll now and start later, just send me a message, and I will happily extend the time for you! Email: [email protected].

  • What are the expert education sessions like?
